Budweiser Commercials [06 Nov 2006|12:17am]
My favorite commercials have to be from Budweisers. I especially love the Budweiser Clyde commercials - not only do they have horses but they manage to pack strong stories, humour and emotions. For anyone who might read this who doesn't know - Budweiser is an American Beer.

Here is a list of the commercials that I could find on youtube, the Clydesdale ones and some other truly funny ones.

Budweiser Clydesdales
----------------------

Donkey - Quite possibly my favorite of all.
Donkey II - The Sequel.
Football - Was obviously a superbowl commercial, and as such, very awesome.
Football II - A common football game occurance????
Football III - Definately a common football game occurance!
Buddies - Very cute :)
Dalmations - Cute as well!
Snowball fight - A classic
Secret - This one chokes me up every time.
Respect - It took me a while to figure out that this is a 9-11 tribute. It's nicely done.

Funny Budweiser Commercials
----------------------------
Some of these are Described as "banned" or "unshown" I don't watch enough TV to have seen any of these.

Nuclear Hamster - Just...bizarre
Ackward Circumstance - I won't say anymore!
Ackward Circumstance II - I'll leave it at that
Ackward Circumstance III -Sucks, lol.
Ackward Circumstance IV - Oops!
Good dog - ...or bad dog :p
Monkey - Another Weird One

Hilarious Compilation - This one is a compilation of commercials in order about Louie the Lizard, the Budweiser frogs and the hitman ferret. Incredibly amusing all along.

Pointless Post about a cute song [01 Jun 2006|11:36pm]
The CD player in my car is broken and the radio cuts out as I get into the most desolate part of the country on the way to my parents, so I have to rely on the old cassette tape player. Having listened to the same tapes over and over again, I found a really old country music tape under the seat. It's called Country's greatest Hits or something with no other information on it.

I'm not the biggest fan of country music but anyway on this tape is a really cute song, I think. I googled some of the lyrics. It's called "Somebody lied".

Meet the Bar Star [16 May 2006|10:00pm]
[ mood | hyper ]

This little girl had been living in the parking lot of a club for a few days, when one of the employees called me after midnight on a Saturday night to come get her because she was going to get run over or worse.

Thus, I picked her up, although I could not keep her. She had terrible ear mites and ear infections, but a vet trip got those cleared up and her vaccinated and tested so that she could be around my other cats. The vet said that she was between 6-8 months old.

She is such a sweet little girl. Some cats talk, she talks in complete sentances and loves to tell me what's going on and exactly what she thinks of it. She's always running up and squeaking to greet me, and loves to stay in the company of humans. She also has a purr 3x her size. She is so sweet and I'm trying to find her a good home as I just have too many cats as it is :p Nevertheless, I thought that I'd share some pics of the little girl, since the is the definition of attention whore, meet "Bar Star"...

Of CSI, Deathtraps and NORAD [24 Dec 2005|02:26pm]
Just a brief update to say:

-Got stranded in 'dosa due to terrible road conditions. I was really expecting to be in Brandon, however it was incredibly relaxing to spend a few days sleeping, baking and lounging around and enjoying whiskers on kittens and a few other of my favorite things.

-Watched my first CSI episode of the season last night. Sure it was a re-run, but a re-run I hadn't seen, which meant that it must have aired this fall! I know that show is serial, cheesy and completely un-realistic, but darn if it's not an hour of distracting fun.

-Read in the Minnedosa tribune that the #10 highway, aka the "Deathtrap", is getting passing lanes!! Not exactly the dual lanes that it needs and they have no start date yet, but I'm so excited. Although it's long overdue, apparently the constant death and gore on that highway beats out their previous statistical evidence that the traffic on that road is within the alloted capacity :p

-Christmas goes high tech or NORAD's really just a big softy at heart! Guess what I'll be watching tonight?

http://www.noradsanta.org

They also had an article in the Brandon Sun about one of the lucky fighter pilots who gets the honor of escorting Santa across Canada tonight!

-And have a Merry Merry Merry Merry Safe Christmas everyone!

Lectures and Life Lessons [02 Oct 2005|04:21pm]
[ mood | contemplative ]
[ music | The Piano Duet by Danny Elfman ]

Last night The Sick took ahold of me. Finally now I get the chance to curl up and rest.

In new News, Corpse Bride just rocks. It's so awesome!

Strangely, related, last week I attended a lecture on Fractals and Music which was put on oddly enough by the physics department? It was very interesting, but also very complex in terms of frequencies and equations, etc. Nevertheless here are some things I learned from it :

1) When Kepler origionally noticed the movements of the planets, he didn't know how to describe them so he did it as notes on a musical scale.
2) Middle C is 264 Hz.
3) Fractal equations where notes are substituted instead of color, actually all produce really good sounding music.
4)Fractals occur many places in nature, eg. the blood vessels in your lungs and are used by army ants to find prey.
5) Army ants actually having something that is scientifically called a "booty cache".
6)Fractals are the most efficient way to transfer information.
7)Music often has a fractal like pattern.
8)A theory is that it is because the information can be so efficiently transfered in music that people are so passionate about music.
9)There are "rumors" that Mozart and Bach both used equations as inspirations for their music since their music is especially fractal-like.
10)Music has two elements, harmony and tension. Harmony are notes that sound good together. However listening to just harmony gets boring which is why tension (notes that are not harmonious or don't sound good together) is needed to add interest. I think this may be a life lesson. Harmony is good and all but you need some tension for things to be interesting. I think that it can be easy to forget that it takes both to make a final wonderful piece.

Aaron and I have been long believers in the potential of fractals, especially in computing and in describing life the universe and everything. Anybody into fuzzy logic or neural nets can attest to that. Someday computers will probably not compute in binary but in some fraction between 0 and 1.

Lectures and life lessons aside, I'm really looking forward to Wallance & Grommit's Attack of the Were-Rabbit!

O'Malley
O'Malley. AKA Dr. Baron Von EvilSatan, you are
bent on taking over the universe. You are
pretty power-hungry, and consider yourself
better than others. Unfortunately you don't
have your own body, you need someone else's.
And unfortunately you've only been able to use
a moron, a chick, and a whimpy medic, but THE
UNIVERSE SHALL BE YOURS!

Just the good ol' boys... [07 Sep 2005|06:30pm]
I finally saw "The Dukes of Hazzard" on the big screen. It was, as expected, very awesome. Granted if you weren't a fan of the original series, you'd probably see it as nothing more then pointless car chases, scantily clad chicks and random violent distruction. If you liked the original series, you'd probably be impressed with the way the movie quite elegantly made fun of the series. I was also quite impressed that the new mods to the General Lee weren't really showcased. I think it was better that way. Subtle glimpses were good enough.

Someday I shall have a re-creation Dodge Charger :)

My classes start tonight. Which I am totally un-prepared for. Since I was told classes start on Thursday, I figured I would miss them this week. Unfortunately they start on good ol' Wednesday.

Other then that not too much new and exciting. I'm still displaced somewhere between Minnedosa and Brandon, but rather then trying to figure out which one I'm gonna be at, I've come to the conclusion that the best plan is to set up a lair...er home at both. While covering more territory may seem like a good strategy, what really seems to happen is that anything I need is at the OTHER location.

I spent most of the weekend at a Film Workshop. Which included learning about film-y things and getting a chance to see independant film from Brandon and Winnipeg film-makers. Independant film is very eclectic. You never really know what you're going to get when you sit down to watch it. You usually don't know what you are getting while you are watching it. I enjoy the predictablity of not knowing what it's going to happen.

It inspires me to do film projects and writing projects.

Danger! [01 Aug 2005|11:07pm]
Must wear "Mina" nightgown to bed. You know the long white frilly kind that makes Vampires call upon you. I'd protect myself with garlic...but I don't know if we have any. I however have Mint Bliss envigorating lotion on my feet. Perhaps that will provide protection. It sure made the cat try to kill my feets!

Swamp Goo is a 1 extra large cup of coffee in the morning.
Zombie is 2 cups.
Bitten by Mint Bliss Envigorating Immune vampire is probably 3.

Reflections [14 Jul 2005|08:52pm]
These lyrics from the song "Lancelot" by Dave Carter have been running through my head all day.

"Now bugles blow golden and banners fly blue
but these days the castle's just drywall and glue
and tiltin at windmills is the best you can do
with the black knight of time on your lawn"
